Tariq is a Senior Hydrogeologist joining AGE from South Australia in May 2023 with 14 years’ experience as a hydrogeologist specializing in groundwater modelling. Tariq has a PhD which involved him developing a solute boundary condition in MT3DMS and PHT3D for repeating space, that is now available in MODFLOW6.

Tariq’s project experience is diverse comprising GDE impact assessments; resource characterization; dewatering/injection optimisation; capture zone delineation; managed aquifer recharge operation; and seawater intrusion threat analysis across mining and agriculture sectors.

Tariq enjoys exploring new methods in hydrogeology driven by advancing technology because it allows for creativity when solving groundwater modelling problems.

Outside of work Tariq makes the most of living in native bushland, which is a great advantage for his love of looking at the night sky through a telescope with his family.
