Senior Project – Hydrogeologist | Newcastle
Dr Amir Jazayeri
Amir is a Senior Project Hydrogeologist/Groundwater Modeller, with his BSc in Civil Engineering and MSc in Coastal Engineering from Azad and Toosi Universities in Iran, and a PhD in Hydrogeology from Griffith University. In addition, Amir has worked abroad in a number of countries including China, Switzerland and the Pacific Islands.
On a personal level, Amir has specialist knowledge in groundwater and contaminant transport modelling, field and geophysical surveys and seawater intrusion and variable density flow phenomena. He has a broad range of expertise in programming systems such as Python. At AGE, he puts his extensive knowledge to good use through developing scripts to streamline operational data inputs, and more.
In his spare time, Amir enjoys travelling, and finding a nice beach to walk. When he is not exploring, you will find him on the field playing soccer for his local club as their goalkeeper.
Amir’s favourite quote is, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress and giving birth to evolution.” – Albert Einstein. This quote serves as a reminder to Amir about the significance of creativity and innovation in problem-solving, which is essential in his field of hydrogeology.
