Technical Modelling Lead | Principal – Groundwater Modeller | Brisbane
With more than 13 years’ experience, Neil specialises in numerical groundwater modelling and hydrogeological assessments, delivering numerous water resource assessments and environmental approvals for coal seam mining, iron ore, gold, and coal-bed methane. His skills also include supervision of drilling, construction and testing of monitoring bores, and vibrating wire piezometers (VMPs), as well as strong capabilities using the MODFLOW family, PEST software packages and advanced scripting.
At AGE, Neil loves the freedom to experiment and explore emerging techniques. Busy working on his PhD, he also can’t wait to have a ‘Dr’ in front of his name.
Something that surprises people about Neil is his history touring New Zealand playing cricket for Canterbury as a teenager, especially since nowadays he doesn’t care for sport at all. He prefers to play music as almost a form of mediation: guitar, piano, drums, clarinet, electronic sampling… whatever takes his fancy. “I must learn them all!”
