James Tomlin

With over 25 years’ experience in consulting, James is highly experienced in groundwater investigations that support feasibility studies, and operations and environmental approvals for the resource, government and landholder sectors. He specialises in identifying key risks and data gaps, designing cost-effective field programs, developing conceptual models of groundwater regimes, advising on legislative requirements and assisting with post-development monitoring and management.

Working at AGE, James loves helping clients gain useful insight into the “mysterious world of groundwater” the most and recalls fondly a project for the Kuwait government looking at the impact of oil fires from the Gulf War on groundwater quality – a technically and culturally very interesting project.

Outside of AGE, James enjoys his other passion of digging holes in his garden and planting an array of plants. A long-time leader at AGE, it’s his hope that AGE can contribute usefully to the assessment and sustainable management of groundwater resources across Australasia well into the future.
